Hey fam! Here we are again, back on the table of thoughts. How’s your day going? How are you doing, yes you? Take a moment, breathe, and repeat after me: Yes, I am enough. Yes, I get this. Yes, I already won. And it is well with me. Sometimes, we need that simple reminder because, truly, we’ve got this!

Now, today we’re diving into a topic that is as vast as it is powerful: Emotions. You know, emotions can be wild and unpredictable. There’s a whole world of feelings we encounter, some we can’t even explain, others that slip away before we fully understand them. But emotions, in all their complexities, are what make us human, right? They shape our experiences, our actions, and how we perceive the world around us.

But let me tell you, there’s still so much to explore about them. This topic is still under study people are constantly learning new things about emotions, and it’s an area that I find endlessly fascinating.

Emotions are not just reactions; they are a reflection of the deeper parts of us. And I will never stop learning about them this is a promise I made to myself. We need to keep searching, keep questioning, and keep discovering more about the abstract and the visible.

Let’s dive into the unknown world, seek wisdom, and gain strength to keep pushing forward, as we explore what emotions really are and what they mean in our lives.

What Sparked This? My Own Emotional Journey

Okay, so you might be wondering: What brought up this topic for today? Well, let me pull the bull by the horns and share something personal. A while ago, something happened to me, and it got me thinking about how deeply emotions can affect us, even when we don’t fully understand them.

I went out to see one of my good friends if you know, you know. We did our shopping, and everything seemed perfectly fine. But when I came back home, I realized something: the me that left the house wasn’t the me that came back in. I felt… different. Not in a good way. I felt a mix of anger and grief in my spirit, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on why. It was like a shadow lingering inside of me. I even tried to sleep early to shake it off, but it kept ringing in my mind. Lord, please show me mercy. Show me what this is and what I need to learn from it.

I couldn’t shake this emotion, and I honestly felt bad because I couldn’t understand it. I couldn’t point to a specific reason why I was feeling the way I was. But that’s the tricky part about emotions they don’t always need to be logical. Sometimes, they just are. But still, I questioned myself. Was it something I said? Was it the environment? I did have a late-night encounter with a guy who asked for money, and I said “no.” I felt super conscious of my surroundings because, well, it was late, and trusting people has its risks.

In that moment, I prayed, asking for forgiveness if I’d done something wrong, for guidance, and for the gift of discernment. It’s amazing how emotions can make us second-guess our actions and decisions. But the truth is, we don’t always know why we feel the way we do and that’s okay.

So, What is Emotion Anyway?

Alright, enough about my story. Let’s get into the definition of emotion. What is it, really? Emotion is simply what you and I feel about something. It’s a reaction to something external or internal whether it’s a situation, a person, or even a thought.

Emotions can be positive or negative, fleeting or long-lasting. They can lift us up or bring us down. They can be clear or confusing. But what I want you to understand is this: emotions are valid. Even if you can’t explain them, even if you don’t understand them right now, they still matter. Emotions are like signals they tell us something about ourselves, our boundaries, our needs, or our desires. They often hold a deeper truth, one we may not see immediately but can understand over time.

For example, that strange feeling I narrated? It was my body and mind telling me to slow down and reflect. Maybe it was a mix of anxiety, guilt, and caution emotions that warned me to trust my instincts. At the same time, they also told me I needed peace, stillness, and to surrender the things I couldn’t control.

Emotions Are Teachers

And that’s where the beauty of emotions lies they are our teachers. We often think emotions are just things to be “fixed” or avoided, but in reality, they are guiding us. They help us navigate life. Without them, life would be flat, colorless, and disconnected.

So, next time you feel something intense — whether it’s joy, sadness, frustration, or peace — don’t run from it. Don’t suppress it. Instead, try to understand it. Ask yourself: Why am I feeling this way? What can I learn from this emotion? It might just be a powerful opportunity to grow, reflect, and become more in tune with your inner world.

Embrace Your Emotions, Let Them Teach You

At the end of the day, don’t be afraid to feel. Embrace your emotions. Whether you’re on top of the world or feeling down, remember that both are part of your journey. Each emotion holds a lesson — some are easier to learn than others, but each one is valuable.

Trust yourself to process your emotions in your own way. Don’t let anyone tell you how you should feel. You’re the expert of your own emotional world, and only you can truly understand the depth of your feelings.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this journey with emotions, it’s that they don’t define us, but they help refine us. They challenge us, push us, and sometimes they break us open to reveal a deeper version of ourselves.

So, let’s keep feeling. Let’s keep exploring. And let’s keep learning from every single emotion we experience.

I want to hear from you, too what emotions have you encountered lately that you couldn’t quite understand? What did they teach you? Share your thoughts in the comments. We’re all on this journey together.

Until next time, fam take care of yourselves and keep growing! 🌟
